Pastors pen - thanksgiving

The year 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, a theological movement that literally changed the world–religiously, socially, and politically. In its simplest terms, the Reformation centered on the rediscovery of biblical truth, especially about the way sinners like us can be reconciled to a holy God.

In honor of the Reformation, Killian Hill Baptist Church is hosting a Reformation Conference on Sunday September 10th through Wednesday night 13th. We have two esteemed speakers for the event:

  • Phil Johnsonis the Executive Director of Grace to You and John MacArthur’s long-time assistant. He will be preaching on the five major doctrines of the Reformation. (Sunday at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM; Monday through Wednesday at 7:00 PM)
  • Edward Panosianwas a long-time Church History professor at Bob Jones University. He will be presenting five first-person biographical sketches of prominent reformers. (Sunday at 11:45 AM and 6:00 PM; Monday through Wednesday at 7:00 PM)
  • Bob Roberts (“Big Bob”), the author of the Kids 4 Truth curriculum and the director of Junior Boot Camp at The WILDS, is going to be leading our children’s ministry during the Reformation Conference, Sunday evening through Wednesday evening. This will be a brief, VBS-type event during the four evening services.

The services will include beautiful, stirring music celebrating the doctrines of the Reformation, including a hymn I have written with Bob Kauflin for the occasion.

Two weeks later, on Sunday September 24th, we are honored to be hosting John MacArthur as the guest speaker in our worship service. Dr. MacArthur is a renowned Bible teacher who has reached millions through His church, books, and radio broadcast (Grace to You). He will be preaching during our 10:00 AM service. We look forward to this opportunity to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ together!

Please be our guests for these special events!

Because of Christ,

Pastor Chris Anderson
