The KHCS admissions process has several steps, each one essential to the enrollment program. Our goal for this format is to enable both you and KHCS to objectively evaluate the admissions application. Each step is intentionally designed to help you clearly understand the culture, benefits, values, and requirements intrinsic to the KHCS education. Please be advised that the application is not considered complete until all documents are received and the necessary interviews are conducted. Student must reach minimum appropriate age by September 1st.

How to Begin:

  1. Tour – We are delighted to show you around our campus! Your first step is to schedule a tour.
  2. Each student 3rd–11th is encouraged to “shadow” with their grade at KHCS. This on-campus experience is beneficial for applicants and KHCS!

Submitting Application

Traditional Student – Applications for all grades should be submitted via the online application at www.khcs.org under the “Apply” tab. In order for an application to be submitted, $150 application and testing fee (per student) will be paid online when you have completed the application. As part of the application process you will need to request records from your child’s current school. Student must reach minimum appropriate age by September 1st.

International Student –  Applications for all grades should be submitted via the online application at www.khcs.org under the “Apply” tab. In order for an application to be submitted, $650 application and testing fee (per student) will be paid online when you have completed the application. As part of the application process you will need to request records from your child’s current school translated into English for two previous years and the current year they are attending.  Student must reach minimum appropriate age by September 1st.

Testing

Traditional Student –  Students applying for 1st through 12th grade will be scheduled for testing within one to two days after they have submitted their application.

International Student – Students will be scheduled for online testing after they have submitted their application. International students are required to take two online tests: An English, Language, and Math Standardized test, and an English test to determine the student’s ESL level.

Interview

Traditional Student –  After the application has been submitted, testing has been completed, and records have been received, and the recommendations for 7 – 12, the admissions office will call to schedule the interview with the perspective principal for your student’s grade. One or both parents and the applicant are required to attend the interview.

International Student –  After the application has been submitted, testing has been completed, and records have been received, a copy of the passport, a copy of the birth certificate in English, and the recommendations for 7–12, the Upper School principal will then conduct a Skype interview with those overseas students or a face to face interview if the student is in the USA.

Acceptance

Traditional Student  –  Acceptance of the applicant is based on the interview, test scores, transcript or report card grades, discipline and attendance records, and recommendations for the applicable grades. Killian Hill Christian School does not discriminate against any person based on sex, race, age, or national origin.

Enrollment

Traditional Student –  Immediately after acceptance, the family will be asked to meet with an admissions advisor and fill out the enrollment forms online.  The enrollment fee will also be collected once you complete the enrollment forms. The student is not officially enrolled at Killian Hill Christian School until the enrollment process is completed.

International Student – Immediately after acceptance, the family will be asked to complete the enrollment forms online.  The enrollment fee of $950 will also be collected once you complete the enrollment forms. The student is not officially enrolled at Killian Hill Christian School until the enrollment process is completed.

Other Information

Traditional Student –  Certificate of Immunization – Form 3231 (revised 2007) – State law prohibits a student from beginning classes until Form 3231 has been received by the school. It may be obtained from your family physician or local health department.

Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition Screening – Form 3300 – This may be obtained by your family physician or local health department. State law also requires that this form is on file for each student.

Copy of the birth certificate

Eye, Ear, and Dental Examination Form – Form 3300 (in English) – This may be obtained by your family physician or local health department. State law also requires that this form is on file for each student.

Issuing of the I-20 by head of school or Upper School principal will be done once the student has enrolled and paid the tuition for the year. The student and guardian must at this meeting present a copy of the parent’s proof of income and bank statement.

Application Deadline

Traditional or International Student – Applications are accepted as long as there are class openings. Students are permitted enrollment for the current school year until February 1. This policy does not apply to new students relocating to the area.
