Esmeralda Bonilla - Secondary Math/STEM Teacher

Esmeralda Bonilla, was born in Los Angeles, California, but her parents are from Colombia, South America. She has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and has fifteen years of experience working as an engineer in the water industry.  Throughout her career, she has been involved in various aspects of education, working with children. She is excited about using her engineering background to continue our STEM program – applying real-world examples and hands-on activities that connect with theory. Mrs. Bonilla and her Cuban husband, Antonio, have two beautiful daughters, Victoria and Isabella, who currently attend KHCS. She has lived half of her life in Colombia, so she LOVES Colombian coffee, travel, learning about new cultures, and camping.
