Megan Lewis - Elementary School Administrative Assistant

Megan Lewis grew up in Nagano, Japan where her parents are missionaries. She received a bachelor’s degree in office administration from a college in Wisconsin. She lived on the island of Guam for 11 years where she met and married Matt Lewis. She and Matt have three children who attend KHCS.  In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking and reading.

Matt Lewis - Guidance Counselor

Matt Lewis was born in Missouri. His holds a bachelor’s degree in math education and a Master of Science degree in secondary education. He has been teaching for fourteen years. Mr. Lewis is currently the head of the math department, the guidance counselor, and one of our math teachers. Not only is he passionate about teaching math and preparing students for math competitions, he also enjoys playing his guitar in chapel. He and his wife, Megan, have three little ones. Eden, Cade, and Arabelle. During his free time he enjoys reading, yard work and math.

Suzanne Johns

Suzanne Johns - Administrative Assistant

Suzanne Johns was born in Greenville, South Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design with a minor in business administration. She and her husband, Brian, moved to Georgia in 2005, when Brian took a position as IT Coordinator at KHCS. Mrs. Johns enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, Will, Marykate, Tommy, and Timothy. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outside.


Brian Johns

Athletic Director and Director of Technology

Brian Johns - Athletic Director and Director of Technology

Brian Johns was born in Horseheads, New York. He received his master’s degree from Bob Jones University. Mr. Johns has been the Director of Technology for eighteen years, teaches computer class, and coaches multiple sports. He and his wife, Suzanne, have four children, Will, Marykate, Tommy, and Timothy. He enjoys road and mountain biking as well as playing basketball.

Sheila Janifer

Sheila Janifer - K4 Preschool Teacher

Shelia Janifer was born in Anniston, Alabama and has resided in Gwinnett County for over 30 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Office Administration from Jacksonville State University. With her eighteen years of homeschooling, she directed a community of 30+ children and over 15 families with the Classical approach to learning. She is married to her husband, Mark, who is a Software Support Consultant.  They have two adult daughters and one son.  In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, discovering new recipes, and exploring new adventures outside.

Seon Yeong Hwang

Math Teacher

Seon Yeong Hwang - Math Teacher

Seon Yeong Hwang, a mathematics teacher, has taught and tutored students at many levels from elementary to college for over 16 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and General Science from Ewha Womans University in South Korea with an Academic Excellence Scholarship. She moved to the United States with her family in 2015 and achieved a Georgia Teacher Certificate in Math and Physics. She enjoys swimming with her lovely daughters, Zion and Reion, and playing the flute in her church.


Jana Hunt

Jana Hunt - Art Teacher

Jana Hunt is an artist who has used her talent to paint sets for KHCS and Smokerise Baptist Church plays. She loves helping children succeed in their creative endeavors and is so excited to teach art to our upper elementary classes. Jana and her husband, Todd, have four children, and the youngest, Katie, is a senior this year at KHCS. Mrs. Hunt enjoys drawing, painting, nature, spending time with family, and attending art festivals with her husband.

Patty Hilliard

Patty Hilliard - Admission Assistant

Patty Hilliard was born in Gary, Indiana. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Mrs. Hilliard has spent half of her working career in the insurance industry and the other half in full-time ministry in the areas of administration and human resources.  She enjoys shopping, traveling, cheering on the Michigan teams, and spending time with her husband, Doug, and her cat Gus.

Stephen Heller

Spanish Teacher

Stephen Heller - Spanish Teacher

Stephen Heller II is our secondary Spanish teacher who grew up in Indiana until the age of 10. At that time, he moved to Uruguay, South America with his parents to be missionaries, and he learned Spanish during the 9 years he lived there. Mr. Heller earned his bachelor’s degree from Northland Baptist Bible College and his Master of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the operations director of a hispanic church plant, Gospel Hope Español, in Avondale Estates, Georgia. He has one adult daughter, Kourtney. Mr. Heller enjoys watching his nieces and nephews participate in soccer, reading a good book, and doing whatever is needed to serve at his church. 


Sarah Hayhurst

6th Grade Teacher

Sarah Hayhurst - 6th Grade Teacher

Sarah Hayhurst grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts and is currently completing a graduate degree in teaching and learning. This is Mrs. Hayhurst’s fourth year teaching at KHCS. She is passionate about her students becoming excellent communicators through language arts. She has three children and enjoys hiking, biking, volleyball, and piano.
