Transparency in Coverage

In 2020, the Federal Government finalized new “Transparency in Coverage “ rules intended to make health care pricing more accessible and understandable for consumers.

  • Requirement: Health insurers and group health plans are required to publicly disclose pricing information for in-network rates and out-of-network allowed amounts via Machine-Readable Files (MRFs) by July 1, 2022.
  • Good news! Our medical plan carrier, Aetna, is creating the MRFs on our behalf and will place them on an Aetna public facing website by July 1, 2022.

Aetna will generate two MRFs that contain

  1. Negotiated rates for in-network providers
  2. Billed charges and allowed amounts paid for out-of-network providers

Aetna will publish this information on on July 1, 2022. Aetna will update the files each month and this link will remain active with the most up-to-date information.
