KHCS Secondary School (Grades 7–12)

Welcome to Secondary School

At Killian Hill Christian School, our Secondary School program (Grades 7–12) is designed to prepare students spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally for the next steps in life — whether that’s high school success, college preparation, or meaningful service beyond graduation.

Secondary School Hours: 8:10 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Junior High (Grades 7–8)

Core Mission:
To build a strong foundation in learning, faith, and character, empowering students for a smooth transition into high school.

Program Highlights:

• Faith & Leadership: Weekly chapel and student leadership opportunities deepen spiritual growth and community connection.

• Balanced Curriculum: Core subjects include language arts, math, social studies, science, and Bible, taught in an engaging, learner-centered environment.

• Enrichment Opportunities: Students participate in art, chorus, band, orchestra, drama, Digital Technology, PE, and advanced math where appropriate.

• Mentoring & Community: Peer mentoring connects younger students with upperclassmen to foster relationships and encouragement.

Daily core subjects include language arts, math, social studies, science, and Bible – all of which are taught through learner-centered methods in a climate of high expectations. Special classes at Killian Hill include art, chorus, band, orchestra, drama, Intro to Digital Technology, and physical education. Advanced content classes are offered in math for qualifying students. In addition to interactive classes, students benefit from weekly chapel, peer-to-peer mentors, and extracurricular activities.

High School (Grades 9–12)

Our Purpose:
To graduate leaders who are equipped with academic excellence, Christ-centered character, and a vision for purposeful lives.

Academic Strengths:

• College-Preparatory Curriculum: Core courses in English, math, science, social studies, Bible, and foreign language, all grounded in biblical truth.

• Advanced Coursework: Students may take Honors, AP, Dual Enrollment, and online courses to challenge and expand their learning.

• Standardized Testing Support: In-school opportunities to take the SAT and PSAT help students prepare for college admissions.

• Leadership & Service: Opportunities include student government, National Honor Society, and peer mentoring programs.

• Annual Senior Trip: Our annual senior trip offers students a unique educational and mission-centered experience, traveling domestically or abroad to destinations such as France, Italy, Greece, Great Britain, Spain, and other parts of Europe. These trips are designed to expand worldviews, deepen cultural understanding, and reinforce a Christ-centered faith.

Approximately 80% of KHCS students take one or more AP/college-level courses.
