Be Joyful in Fellowship with God’s People: A Joyful Call to Evangelize – Pastor Kwame

This past month, our theme focused on “Being Joyful in Fellowship with God’s People.” One of the ways we shared about that joy was through the privilege of evangelism (communicating the Good News to unbelievers) and the making of disciples.

For the believer, evangelism is a privilege. God has not only called us to share the Good News, but He has also equipped us by His Spirit to do so. Communicating the gospel is not reserved for “All-Star” or “Varsity Christians.” It’s not just the responsibility of pastors or church leaders. Every follower of Jesus is called and empowered to evangelize and make disciples.

As 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us, “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

This weekend, as you enjoy some of the festivities in your communities, pray that God would grant you opportunities to share the wonderful news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This very news is the power of God unto salvation: The Person of Jesus, His sacrificial death, His glorious resurrection, and the call for all to repent and place their faith in Him to be brought back to God. Remember, God goes before you in victory as you share this Good News.
