REST IN HIM – PASTOR KWAME

REST IN HIM – PASTOR KWAME

We’ve officially entered into a new month, a new season, and a new quarter. We are also entering into a much-needed break: Fall Break. God has been truly good to us. My hope and prayer is that you will enjoy some exciting family time, fun activities, and intentional rest. As you know, rest is vital for the mind, body, and soul. Yes, the soul needs rest too. We are all prone to be carried by the demands of life to the extent that we forget to intentionally find time to rest. I would like to encourage you to be intentional with making time for you and your family to pause and rest sometime during the break.

During your time of rest, also find time to reflect on the One who invites us to rest ultimately in Him. Jesus the King knows the most important rest we need. He knows that spiritually we will attempt to work to please God, but because of our sin and the fall (Genesis 3), our attempts of righteousness, peace, and true joy will only be burdensome. Praise God that Jesus calls us to Himself.
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

During our break and every day, let us be sure to be intentional when it comes to finding rest, and let us look to the One who calls us to Himself to find lasting rest that will bring forth purposeful work and true freedom.

Blessings,

Pastor Kwame
