Akberet Andegiorgs - Teacher's Aid

Akberet Andegiorgs is from Eritrea where she taught first grade for six years and also worked in a literacy program for adults. In 2010, she moved to the United States and has lived in Georgia since then. She married her husband, Binyam, in 2014, and they have three children together – two boys and a girl. When Akberet has free time, she enjoys shopping, going on walks with her children, and spending time with her family.

Rachel VanDenBerghe - Teacher's Aid

Rachel VanDenBerghe is originally from South Carolina and recently moved to Georgia with her husband. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and is most fond of pottery and painting! She loves seeing the creativity and unique thought process behind each child and enjoys helping them cultivate their skills. Rachel enjoys using her spare time to try new recipes, take care of her plants, and take walks with her husband.

Rachel Anderson grew up in Grayson Georgia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Rachel loves to show students the love of Christ while making learning fun for everyone. She has three sisters and one dog. During her downtime, she enjoys reading and playing guitar.


Sarah Hayhurst

6th Grade Teacher

Sarah Hayhurst - 6th Grade Teacher

Sarah Hayhurst grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts and is currently completing a graduate degree in teaching and learning. This is Mrs. Hayhurst’s fourth year teaching at KHCS. She is passionate about her students becoming excellent communicators through language arts. She has three children and enjoys hiking, biking, volleyball, and piano.

Heather Prussia

3rd Grade Teacher

Heather Prussia - 3rd Grade Teacher

Heather Prussia was born and raised in Georgia. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She has been teaching for eight years. As a teacher, Mrs. Prussia loves to watch her students learn and master concepts and help them build confidence. She and her husband, Andy, have four children who are all students at KHCS. In her free time, she enjoys playing games, being outdoors, hiking, gardening, and eating chocolate.

Kimberly Griffin

Kimberly Griffin - 1st Grade Teacher

Kimberly Griffin was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She holds a master’s degree in elementary education. Mrs. Griffin enjoys seeing the faces of her students when they grasp a new concept. She and her husband, Clifton, have a daughter who is currently a student at KHCS. In her free time, she loves to read and travel.

 


Julie Boley

4th Grade Teacher

Julie Boley - 4th Grade Teacher

 

Julie Boley grew up in Royersford, Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Science in music education, and has been teaching for over twenty years, more than a decade here at Killian Hill. While teaching science, Mrs. Boley has creative and engaging projects for her students to complete. She and her husband, Alan, have four children. During her downtime she enjoys playing the flute.

Marcia Rygh

Marcia Rygh - Paino and Flute Teacher

Marcia Rygh was born in Lebanon, Indiana. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in piano performance from Bob Jones University. She has been teaching private piano and flute lessons for over thirty years. She and her husband, Steve, have four children – Kaitlyn, Collin, and Kristyn have all graduated from KHCS and Connor is currently a senior. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and coffee shops.

Janeen Dawson

Janeen Dawson - Librarian

Janeen Dawson was born in Atwater, Ohio. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. She has taught for thirty-four years, twenty-seven of those at KHCS! She is always at work updating the books in the library and making the library one of our students’ favorite places. She and her husband, Doug, have three children, Jared, Jonna, and Jake, who have all graduated from KHCS. During her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and reading.


Jim Bailey

Jim Bailey - Boys P.E. Teacher

Jim Bailey was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has spent thirty five of his forty-three teaching years at KHCS. He and his wife, Linda, have two sons, Allan and Kyle, who are both alumni of KHCS and educators as well. In his downtime, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his granddaughter.
