Janice Crawford - Learning Discoveries Coordinator

Janice Crawford was born in Wisconsin but grew up in North Carolina. She has her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Mrs. Crawford has been teaching for over thirty years – more than twenty of those at KHCS. She and her husband, Johnnie, have one son, Jason, who is a 2017 graduate of KHCS. During her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her dogs.

 

Sarah Hayhurst

Sarah Hayhurst - Secondary English Teacher

Sarah Hayhurst grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin. She earned her BA degree in communication arts and her MEd degree in teaching and learning. This is Mrs. Hayhurst’s seventh year teaching at KHCS. She is passionate about her students becoming excellent communicators through language arts. She has three children and enjoys hiking, biking, volleyball, and piano.

Seon Yeong Hwang

Seon Yeong Hwang - Secondary Math Teacher

Seon Yeong Hwang, a mathematics teacher, has taught and tutored students at many levels from elementary to college for over 16 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and General Science from Ewha Womans University in South Korea with an Academic Excellence Scholarship. She moved to the United States with her family in 2015 and earned a Georgia Teacher Certificate in Math and Physics. She enjoys swimming with her lovely daughters, Zion and Reion, and playing the flute in her church.


Dr. Shannon Lee

Dr. Shannon Lee - Secondary English Teacher/AP Psychology/ESL

Shannon Lee grew up in Taiwan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literature, and a doctorate degree in English, as well as a training certificate in Secondary English Teacher’s Education from Taiwan. Coming from a family of educators, Ms. Lee greatly enjoys and is very passionate about teaching, and sees teaching as a big part of God’s calling for her life. Outside of work, she spends most of her time serving her church community and fellowship. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends!

Dr. Matt Lewis

Guidance Counselor

Dr. Matt Lewis - Guidance Counselor

Matt Lewis was born in Missouri and has a bachelor’s degree in math education, a Master of Science degree in secondary education, and a doctorate degree in education. He has been teaching over fifteen years and is currently the head of the KHCS math department, the guidance counselor, and one of our excellent math teachers. Not only is he passionate about teaching math and preparing students for math competitions, he also enjoys playing his guitar in chapel. He and his wife, Megan, have three children enrolled at KHCS. During his free time Dr. Lewis enjoys reading, yard work, and math.

Leah Li

Leah Li was born in China and came to the US in 2017. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. Ms. Li enjoys leading a small group Bible study and is passionate about showing people who God is through her teaching. Outside of work, she likes Lord of the Rings, hiking, going to the gym, and playing the violin. 


Melody Lu

Melody Lu - Secondary Math

Melody Lu was born and grew up in China. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education from Bob Jones University. Ms. Lu is passionate about bringing students to explore God-created beauty in Math and Science. She has an artsy family and a younger sister who is especially talented in arts and design. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and talking with friends.

Wendy Monroe

Wendy Monroe - Secondary History Teacher

Wendy Monroe was born in Creve Coeur, Missouri. She is an alumnus of KHCS and has served as a faculty and staff member here for over seventeen years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, and a Master of Arts in History, and is currently completing her PhD with a focus on historiography. She and her husband, David, have two children, Gwyna and Colin. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, writing, and spending time with her family.

Sarah Munne - Fine Arts Director, Secondary English & Speech Teacher

Sarah Munne was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her bachelor’s degree in speech education. In addition to teaching English, she also coaches students for fine arts competitions. Mrs. Munne enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and two sweet daughters, Jane and Gwen. She enjoys watching The Great British Baking Show, reading classic literature, and coloring with her toddlers.


Holly Novak

Secondary School Principal

Holly Novak - Secondary School Principal

Holly Novak grew up in Kenya, East Africa, before coming to the states and graduating in 2002 with a degree in secondary education in history and linguistics. After graduation, she spent twenty-two years at Harvest Christian Academy in Guam teaching history and physical education classes as well as coaching basketball and soccer. Most recently, Ms. Novak has filled the role of the Dean of Education for Harvest Baptist Bible College in Guam. She has earned a masters degree in education and is currently pursuing a doctorate of education degree in instructional leadership. Ms. Novak loves to spend time with friends and family and of course, her dog, Kip!
