Kristie Grable - 3rd Grade Teacher
Kristie Grable teaches fifth grade, and she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from UGA. After homeschooling her four children through high school, she is happy to be in the classroom once again with a love and appreciation for the hearts and minds of her students. Her experience with Child Evangelism Fellowship has equipped her with her greatest passion – imparting the gospel of Jesus Christ to the next generation. In her free time, she enjoys tennis, biking, gardening, and leading after-school Bible clubs through the ministry of Good News Club. Mrs. Grable is grateful for the opportunity to work with the families and staff of KHCS.

Kimberly Griffin - 6th Grade Teacher
Kimberly Griffin was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She holds a master’s degree in elementary education. Mrs. Griffin enjoys seeing the faces of her students when they grasp a new concept. She and her husband, Clifton, have a daughter who is currently a student at KHCS. In her free time, she loves to read and travel.

Katy Hansen - Elementary STEM & P.E. & Secondary Language Lab
Katy Hansen was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia for early childhood education and has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in human resource management from American Intercontinental University. She worked twenty-five years in the financial services industry. She is married to her husband, John, and has a son, Ben, who attends KHCS. She has two dogs and several chickens and enjoys being outside. Mrs. Hansen spends her free time doing youth group activities and events at church. She is excited to bring the many areas of STEM to life for her students and is very grateful to be a part of the KHCS team.
Sarah Hayhurst

Sarah Hayhurst - Secondary English Teacher
Sarah Hayhurst grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts and is currently completing a graduate degree in teaching and learning. This is Mrs. Hayhurst’s fifth year teaching at KHCS. She is passionate about her students becoming excellent communicators through language arts. She has three children and enjoys hiking, biking, volleyball, and piano.

Jana Hunt - Art Teacher
Jana Hunt is an artist who has used her talent to paint sets for KHCS and Smokerise Baptist Church plays. She loves helping children succeed in their creative endeavors and is so excited to teach art to our upper elementary classes. Jana and her husband, Todd, have four children, and the youngest, Katie, is a senior this year at KHCS. Mrs. Hunt enjoys drawing, painting, nature, spending time with family, and attending art festivals with her husband.
Seon Yeong Hwang

Seon Yeong Hwang - Secondary Math Teacher
Seon Yeong Hwang, a mathematics teacher, has taught and tutored students at many levels from elementary to college for over 16 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and General Science from Ewha Womans University in South Korea with an Academic Excellence Scholarship. She moved to the United States with her family in 2015 and achieved a Georgia Teacher Certificate in Math and Physics. She enjoys swimming with her lovely daughters, Zion and Reion, and playing the flute in her church.

Shelia Janifer was born in Anniston, Alabama and has resided in Gwinnett County for over 30 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Office Administration from Jacksonville State University. With her eighteen years of homeschooling, she directed a community of 30+ children and over 15 families with the Classical approach to learning. She is married to her husband, Mark, who is a Software Support Consultant. They have two adult daughters and one son. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, discovering new recipes, and exploring new adventures outside.

Brian Johns - Athletic Director, Technology Director & Campus Security
Brian Johns was born in Horseheads, New York. He received his master’s degree from Bob Jones University. Mr. Johns has been the Director of Technology for eighteen years, teaches computer class, and coaches multiple sports. He and his wife, Suzanne, have four children, Will, Marykate, Tommy, and Timothy. He enjoys road and mountain biking as well as playing basketball.

Suzanne Johns was born in Greenville, South Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design with a minor in business administration. She and her husband, Brian, moved to Georgia in 2005, when Brian took a position as IT Coordinator at KHCS. Mrs. Johns enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, Will, Marykate, Tommy, and Timothy. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outside.
Matt Lewis

Matt Lewis - Guidance Counselor
Matt Lewis was born in Missouri. His holds a bachelor’s degree in math education and a Master of Science degree in secondary education. He has been teaching for fourteen years. Mr. Lewis is currently the head of the math department, the guidance counselor, and one of our math teachers. Not only is he passionate about teaching math and preparing students for math competitions, he also enjoys playing his guitar in chapel. He and his wife, Megan, have three little ones. Eden, Cade, and Arabelle. During his free time he enjoys reading, yard work and math.
