Angie Brinson was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana. She has her Bachelor of Science in education from Liberty University. Mrs. Brinson has been teaching for over twenty years. She and her husband, Rick, have three grown children. During her time off the Hill, she enjoys running, walking, and reading.

Deborah Ballew - 3rd Grade Teacher
Deborah Ballew was born in Waterford, Michigan. She holds a bachelor of science in elementary education and a master’s degree in education. Mrs. Ballew is currently in her twenty seventh-year at KHCS, and her love of reading is contagious. She and her husband, Tom, have two sons, Matt and Micah. During her free time, she enjoys reading, sewing, and crafting.
Lori Anderson - K4 Teacher
Lori Anderson was born and raised in New Jersey. She holds a master’s degree in special education from Bob Jones University and has nine years of teaching experience. As the preschool director, Mrs. Anderson spends her time teaching character and foundational concepts to the youngest on the Hill. Her husband, Chris, is the lead pastor at KHBC and they have four daughters, Rebekah, Rachel, Esther, and Grace. She enjoys spending time cooking and baking for her family.

Caroline Anderson - 5th Grade Teacher
Caroline Anderson was born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English education. Mrs. Anderson has taught for ten years and has a heart for people. She and her husband, Walt, have an ongoing ministry with refugees. They have two daughters, Alex and Emma. During her free time, she enjoys singing, crafting, reading, writing, and traveling.

Doug Abels - Head of School
Doug Abels loves Christian education and he has a strong desire to impact young lives for eternity and for God’s glory. For twenty years, he ministered in a vibrant Christian school on the island of Guam, learning to love and serve a very diverse group of people and cultures. Beginning as a math and science teacher, he transitioned into school administration for the majority of his twenty years there, all while earning a master’s degree in secondary education and then a doctorate in educational leadership. Dr. Abels is passionate about academic excellence, purposeful discipleship, and continual improvement. He and his wife, Karen, have four children, Jesse, Seth, Jake, and Emma. He enjoys basketball, motorcycles, ethnic cuisines, the mountains, woodworking, and reading.
